Our Support For These Events is Critical For Route Safety!

We are helping the cause by providing radio communications and enhanced route safety for MS Society bicycle tours. We strongly believe that good communications creates a safer and more enjoyable event.

Who is needed?

Radio operators are needed for rest stops, support and gear (SAG) vehicles, staff shadows, intersection safety and Net Control and many other positions. You can volunteer your time and equipment by signing up. Click here. to sign up.

There are also many positions available to non-licensed individuals. Make it a family event! We can team you up with a licensed ham and you may get on the air using their license. Equipment, set-up, tear-down, recruitment, education, planning, and more, are examples of the positions available.

We will soon have job descriptions posted for many of the positions.

Our Process

We use the standard Incident Command System that is in widespread use by government agencies.

Each rest stop communications team monitors their assigned segment of the tour. Assigned segments are overlapped to ensure communications. It is expected that one of two rest stops will hear your communication needs. See the attached diagram.

MS SCRAM is an independent group comprised of volunteers dedicated to ending multiple sclerosis. Its partnership with the National MS Society includes radio communication and volunteer support during the events in which it participates.
